I have a leaking rear wheel cylinder in my 1989 Custom Cruiser. No biggie; remove and replace. I picked up the replacement part at AutoZone, which is the most convenient bricks and mortar store for me. It was Chinese-made. I might have to get used to that. What I might not get used to is the 90-day-only warranty. I used to buy Raybestos and Bendix parts, and they came with much longer warranties.

So who can tell me what the warranty is for the other replacement wheel cylinders out there? There are several shown at Amazon, but information is warranties is lacking.

Usually the auto parts store will offer parts with a lifetime warranty. You just end up paying a bit more.

Just this week I spent $330 on 8 fuel injectors for my Ford diesel truck. Unfortunately, they only have a 3 year warranty. There are none available with a lifetime warranty.

 

The dirty little secret in the auto parts industry is that the higher price for the longer warranty isn't buying you a better part - it just pays for an insurance policy. NAPA is famous for this. Their "premium" brand parts are the same Chinesium as their cheaper parts. The higher price just pays for the longer warranty.

 

Those are most certainly made in China, too.

I looked just now at the wheel cylinders available for your car at Rockauto. Four brands are offered: Centrix, Raybestos, Wagner, and ACDelco. My guess is that, no matter which one you buy, it will say "Made in China" on the box. I replaced pretty much everything on both the front and rear brakes on my '78 Toro about a year ago, and every single part, no matter the brand, said Made in China on the box. You can't get away from it, unless you can find NOS.

 

Finding brake parts not made in China is pretty tough. If you want American made, nos may be your only choice. They will be expensive and carry no warranty.
