Toronado disk brake conversion - Eldorado
Looking for a parts car to do a disk brake conversion on my '66; found a 1974 Eldorado.. Do any of you know if the upper A arms and spindles will fit?

I believe you can adapt 73-78 Toro/Eldo spindles and brakes to 66-72 by using 73-later ball joints and outer tie rod ends, without changing the control arm. Make sure to grab the proportioning valve too; you'll need it. The hub bearings should come with the spindles and it is always good to have spares of those.
I'm told that 76-78 Eldo rear discs are a bolt-on, but I was strongly discouraged from doing that by an Olds Zone Service Manager. Seems they had a hell of a lot of trouble with those early rear discs.

Has anybody out there done a disk conversion on a first gen Toronado without changing the upper control arms?
Seems like a much simpler way to go..
If you've done it post please up the year spindles used and any other info you can share.
