Brake question on my 62 starfire...what is this?

Hey everyone. Since I have been working under my car for the past week I have been finding out some stuff. The guy I bought the car from had all the brakes redone. However, the rear junction block caught my eye. There is a section of fuel injector hose coming out of it that is capped off with a vac port with a screw in it. What is the purpose of this? This does not look right at all, but I am not sure. I looked in both the 61 and 62 shop manuals but no luck. I don't know if an orig. style junction block could not be found so it was improvised. I just don't want to have this "add on" fail and me without any brakes. I added a few pictures. The one picture I am pointing to the hose in question, as well as the capped off end. There is also a close up of the junction block. So what do you guys think?? I can take more pictures if needed.

Looks like the differential vent.

That could be. I didn't think of that. But I never saw a diff vent in conjunction with the rear brake junction block. What would be the purpose of having the long hose being capped off?

It shouldn't be capped - it should have a little vent end that makes it easy for air to get through, but hard for oil.

Ah ok I got ya. I guess that is why there is an open end of the vac port. under the end that is plugged with a screw. Never seen a setup like this before. Thanks for the info
