Rear Brake Line

Looking at redoing my brake lines on my 69 Cutlass S. On the 69 there is a point where the hard line connects with a soft line at the rear cross member. Then this flexable line T's at the axle. The T junction actually bolts to the axle. So in replacing this flexable T section any suggestions. I checked Fusicks and they have the T junction but it doesn't have the option to bolt down. I can replace the T and Cut the Bolt loop of the old and weld to the new but wanted to see what others have done.

I don't recommend welding the T piece, the heat might distort the threads giving you a mystery leak.

Unless you want complete originality I think you can buy a generic T piece with a bolt hole at a good auto parts store.

It's not exclusively for the 'older' cars - just the same part all these years for rear-drive GM's!

The correct flex liine will have a t-terminal swaged onto the hose. There will be a bolt hole plus two brake line female fittings. One such line is F79997 or Centric 150.62387.
