Proportion Valve Placement.
Proportion Valve Placement.
Looking for suggestions on placement of the Proportion Valve. Right now I am doing a frame off. First one. I will say it is nice to have a nice clean frame to work on. What I am doing is converting the front brakes on a 69 Cutlass S to Disk brakes. Now prior to this when I drove the car with all drums I had to move distro block to the lower firewall due to the headers on the 455 needed the room next to the inner frame. With this since I have more access I was thinking of moving this further back on the inner frame back around the corner under the drivers feet area but open to suggestions.
Another in review of the Fusicks cataloge for prop valves it mentions proper placement. Any thoughts to that?

On my 66 when i put disks on it, I put it way back on the front frame rail right after the first big curve after the straight section. Should easily clear headers, etc etc.
I mounted one under the master cylinder with an OEM bracket for that placement. If you are going to race, there should be no lines going past the bellhousing area, unless protected in 1/8" wall tubing, per NHRA rules.

Here are a few pictures of my lines on my 64 F-85 pro-touring build and where I decided to mount mine. Give you some ideas.

EZIBEND Tubing mfr. Brakequip. It's a 90/10 alloy makes it very easy to bend your own lines. I believe its OEM on Jaguar and BMW now. www.brakequip.com
