Need Lower Steering Column Bearing - Olds 98 1964

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has ever replace the lower bearing on the steering column on a olds 98 1964 with tilt steering

I am unable to find a replacement bearing. Does anyone know where I could buy such bearing?

Thanks for your help

I have a 64 Jetstar88 [big car] that might share that part.

I have had the non-tilt columns apart, easy. Replacing the lower bearing might be done w/o dismantling, did you ck the service manual procedure?

If you need the used part let me know.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the offering, the car is being painted and hope to have it back in a couple of weeks. I replaced the power steering gear thinking that could be the issue why the steering wheel was making noise when returning to the original position.

I know realize that the steering shaft is wobbling in the lower part of the steering column and rubbing against the inside of the column.

I have the manual from oldsmobile and there is a bearing that goes there, but I am 100% sure mine is either gone or completely destroyed
