What color was the master cylinder itself and bracketry? Was it silver or more of an aluminum color? I've cleaned mine up and want to repaint with a nice metal paint. Brake Booster and MC cap I already painted gold on my 1969 Cutlass S as per another thread.

Most new masters are cast colour. There is some thought that they were painted black originally. I believe they were unpainted cast from the factory and if you needed an NOS replacement, they were painted black. Others will disagree.
