Master Cylinder for 57 Olds

Does anyone produce an aftermarket manual brakes master cylinder for a 57 Olds that works? I made the mistake of purchasing one from Ebay.

I'm not sure if you can get one from any supplier. Try one of these places:

I had mine rebuilt by karps power brake and they replaced the master with a new aluminum master. Have it on my 57 the last 3 years with no issues!!

This M/C is a rare bird.
According to the parts book, it fits only 1957 & 58 Olds without power brakes.
Very few 57-58 Olds didn't have power brakes.
The factory part number is 5455797. If you want to google search it.

Worn and badly rusted master cylinders can be restored by installing a stainless sleeve in the bore.

Thank you. From what I understand, this is the MC that was used on non-power brake Pontiacs for several years as well. So, I don't think it's incredibly rare.

No,
According to my price guide that part was only used by Oldsmobile. No other GM make.

in any case, the new one I got looks identical to what I removed, and it looks like only the brake line connection is leaking. The MC itself may be ok.
