Removing Standard Brakes Master Cylinder - 57 Olds 88

Has anyone removed a standard master cylinder from a 57 Olds 88 (or something comparable)? I removed the two bolts and the brake line, but I cannot figure out how to disengage the pushrod sleeve (clevis) from the braket. Do I have to remove the entire brake pedal assembly? I've replaced several master cylinders in 60s and 70s cars (apparently when engineers harbored less hatred for mechanics). Thanks in advance!

Here are some illustrations that may help.
I would think that removing the pin from the clevis on the pedal would be the easiest
1956 setup is similar to 1957.

.

This is the master cylinder exploded.
