master cylinder

Can you tell the differance between a power drum & Power disc/Drum Master cylinder by looking at it.I have power drum but it looks like the Booster & MC have been changed.I'm changing over to power disc in front.Thanks.

The power disc MC has a larger front reservoir.

I'm glad I finally found this thread...I have the same question. So the drum brake MC will have equally sized front and rear reservoirs? The disc will have a larger reservoir for the front?

My car has disc brakes with the drum MC, I believe. The MC is shot so I'd like to replace it with the correct one.

Thanks

Thanks...think I got it now. It looks like mine has the disc MC after all. I'm also now wondering if my car has original disc brakes on it? I assumed it was a conversion but what do you think? Isn't this the correct proportioning valve too?

Everything in the photos is correct for a 1972 Supreme and appears to have been there since the car was born (except that the M/C looks like a replacement).

Thank You Joe! Very good to know.

The seller had told me it had drum brakes all around so that was a nice surprise.

The local parts store has 1.125" MC's for $40 new or $20 rebuilt....and in stock too.
