You might try to order from Kanter, Fusick.

So I'm not clear on this. You think you have the right part and are concerned why it was engineered this way? Or you think you have the wrong part? If so, how does it compare to the original part?

If these parts are on a 65 Starfire they should be the same as a Delta, Dynamic or 98. A parts supplier can tell you what part their books say is correct for your car. But don't expect them to know why Oldsmobile spec'd these parts.

Inline Tube (www.inlinetube.com) or someone similar may be able to explain why it was engineered this way. Personally I'd rather have 3/16" lines running the length of the car. Then the connections terminating with 1/8". Than have 1/8" the whole way.

brake line

hi, the thing is ,it was not original when i got the car ,so i got a manual , and every thing i get when i order something is not right , i ordered the ss pre bent brake line set ,all was fine ,but i have no bracket for the pumkin,as it shows in the manual,my big problem is it does not make sense to me to have a rear rubber line that is 1/8 dia, and every other part of the brake system is 3/16 dia. i ordered a rubber line for a 66 starfire thinking it would be the same ,it was close ,had a tee at the end of line that would bolt to the pumkin, fine ,but it is 1/8 th ,dia also, what it seems like is that i am getting parts for a delta,i appreciate your reply, thanks will.

Will, the Jetstar 88's (w/ the 330 engines) were the only ones that had the smaller 9-1/2" brakes. All other big cars, Starfires, Jetstar 1's, 88's & 98's had 11" brakes. I'm talking 65/66 here.

I'm no expert on this. But what I've seen is F85/Cutlass' had the hose with the tee (2 outlets) on the end. The big cars had a straight hose and the tee was on the pumpkin (center section). Then all I've seen had 1/8" lines on the rearend.

So if you got 3/16" lines back to the rear hose, 1/8" hose and then 1/8" lines on the rearend I think you're correct. If the lines on the rearend are 3/16" also you've probably got a problem. But I don't think the hose is the problem. Talk to the manuf. of the SS lines you bought. Or call Inline Tube, 586-532-1338 (tech support). They should be able to tell you the correct size lines for your car.

brake line

hi, come to find out i looked through my slips ,and it was inline tube that i got my ss line set from, told me it was suppose to be 3/16 through out the system, but had no rear rubber line listed for my starfire, or any such blockto go on the pumkin ,so i guess i will go to napa, and get another front line ,then just try to get a tee or a block , so all fits,so thanks vey much for the help, will.
