Front brake drums 1965.

Hi , i replacing the worn front / right ( Hyatt ) wheel bearings and the brake drum have signs of wear . I think Joe P
here wrote on the forum that the early -65 98 had smaller bearings than later models. And i can se that later models
have a larger inner dia than mine . So maybe it,s hard to get som other drums if i should replace these is there
drums from another Oldsmobile model who can be used ?

Brakes works for now so i should replace the bearings to new SKF bearings and a National 7607 seal.
( the outer bearing are the same as Harley hub -73 up , had a couple bearings laying here for 25 years )

The wheel bearings mount in the hub, not the brake drum. You can separate the drum from the hub and simply replace the drum. Note that you MUST push out all five wheel studs first to do this. Also, unless the wear is excessive, you can simply have the original drum turned. You don't need to separate it from the hub to do this. Have the drum turned before installing new bearings.
