Dust shield and caliper bracket

My new spindles and the parts arent quite lining up together . Dust shield and bracket came off of a 72 442 and are so close to bolting together on my Cutlass S. Is it ok to drill or shave the bracket upper bolt hole to allow the bolt to line up . Or should I break down and buy a new bracket and shield .

Will the bracket bolt up without the shield? If not it kinda makes me think the bracket is a bit tweaked. Is the bottom bolt loose enough when trying to start the top bolt?

Ill try it without the dust shield . I started with just the top but bottom one wouldn't even attempt to go through . Then I put bottom ones in and top was closer but I dont wanna try to force it . Bottom bolts were loose and tried it with them tight as well to see if it help align it .

Tried without dust shield no luck . Moved to passenger side to see if it was maybe just warped driver side parts same thing. I believe its the spindles now cause both sides . Which sucks cause I just put all new ball joints in and dont wanna do that again but I may have to .
