68 cutlass front disk conversion

I am doing a frame off on a 68 cutlass. I have purchased Disk spindles with backing plates and caliper brackets.

The car originally had no power brakes. If change to power brakes I will need a booster but can I use the same MC and can I use the existing distribution block.

thanks Bruce

I am doing the same on my 69 delta, I am sure you will have to get a new mc and power boost to hook up to your vacume on engine.

I bought the whole kits from ssbc.com and you will need a proportioning valve for the rear brakes

cheers

The same MC as what? The drum brakes? Drum and disk M/Cs are completely different. Also, power and manual brake M/Cs usually (but not always) have a different bore diameter and are thus also different.

Note that if you do convert to power brakes, DO NOT throw away the pushrod, retainer, and boot from the manual brake M/C. These parts are unique to manual brake cars and are sought after.
