'68 (& '67?) Cutlass/442 4 piston calipers...

I've been studying these as I'd like to convert to front disc on my '68 Cutlass. I know these parts are more $$ , but are still cheaper than Bear/Brembo/Wilwood/SSBC/whatever kit, and want the setup to be as '68 accurate as possible. From what I've learned, the 4 pot actually works rather well, maybe better than the single pot, if setup/maintained properly.

I know that some of the parts are now repro'd...such as the two piece rotor (in both orig 2 piece and compatible 1 piece designs) and I've seen new/rebuilt calipers along with repro backing plates, brackets, lines/hoses, etc..., but most are listed as for Chevelle and some GTOs.

On top of that, some of the 4 pot repros don't look quite right. Example - InlineTube sells this pricey 4 pot conversion, but the calipers look wrong.

Does anyone know the interchange-ability of other '68 A-body parts ? Are the BOP and/or Chevy main components like calipers/brackets the same ? Or are there Olds specific parts ? If so, does anyone have info like caliper casting numbers/etc...for the Olds version ? Pics of an actual factory '68 setup, maybe ?

Thanks...!

No I just have to get over the idea of using what may be Chevy parts !

Oh, wait......
R.E.Olds invented the drum brake. Which modern disc brakes evolved from. So....those Chevies are actually using Olds derived parts ! Yeah, that's what I thought!

Alrighty....my disc brake parts collection grows...

Next question, what are the original factory colors for these parts:

Backing plates
Caliper brackets
Hose brackets on spindle

I've seen cars with all different colors.....Example: I've seen the brackets in gray oxide, silver paint, black paint, silver cad, & gold cad (repros are gold).

Anyone have info ? Or pics from a (Lansing) factory car ?

And, wondering...Has anyone compiled a '68 color list for other various components ?
