'67 442 rear brake cable

My e-brake cable is rusted in place and will not brake loose. I have looked through several threads but did not see anything about the actual installation process of that front cable from e-brake down and through frame. Anyone had experience doing this and what is best method. Start from top and go down or fish it from bottom side and up??? all suggestions welcomed. One of the rear cables is also frozen but I have done those before so that is not a problem. Just never the front portion. Thanks, Mike

I don't work on cars, so I can't help you with installation, but I am sure MDchanic or someone else on this site will assist you....

If you duck your head under the dash and look under the car, its pretty obvious how it goes. You can take them off and goof around with penetrating oil to try and unstick them, I've found they are usually frayed. Or you can just replace them. You can buy some from Craig above, your local autoparts store, or off the internet like rockauto, inline tube, etc. Here is a link for rockauto below.

I tried the penetrating oil soaking overnight and freed up one a while back on another car and the next time I set the brake it came unraveled internally. Then I got one from after market store and junk. Then I found original braided type and work great. So this time I am not trying the oiling routine. Especially on the front one that goes to e-brake housing.
