I'm trying to replace the manual master cylinder in my '56 but I can't find a good way to do it.
Now if I could just get the brake pedal swing arm off the pivoting shaft I'd be all set. I removed the clip, but the arm wont slide off. It moves a little bit, but only like 1/8th of an inch.

What am I missing here?
I'd really be appreciative for any leads.
