vinyl top removal

I want to take the vinyl top off my 1970 cutlass, and just go with a solid color metal top without the vinyl. any helpful hints or ideas on how to do this???

Most here will say to remove the vinyl top, I have grown to like mine a lot! It cuts down on the wax time too.

But decoding your cowl tag, your top was painted white at the factory which is somewhat on the rare side. Being a stickler for O.E., I would paint the top white.
