What is the best sanding block to use when sanding imperfections out of clearcoat?

If you want the best use a steel block. Use a 2" x 4" piece of steel bar and round the corners off so they won't dig in to the paint. Wrap the sandpaper around the bar. Probably a 3/8 or so thickness will work. Let the weight of the bar do the work but you can use a little pressure. It works great on orange peel or cellulite leg waves. For those who say BS, try it and see what the results are. You can use a 1 1/2 bar too if that's what you can find. I had a buddy who was one of the best painters you could find and I told him about this method and he even started blocking primer using this method. He couldn't believe it. I can't take credit for this, the credit goes to 66442 for telling me about this. He painted my car & 2 of the 66 W30's who won Best of Class and Gold @ the MCACN.

Aluminum sounds good, little lighter. I will check this out as I planned to use a piece of hardwood.
