quarter panels

just purchased a 70 442 pace car convert. problem is i have not seen the car in person just thru pictures. anyway rear quarters look like they need a little work{hard to tell how much thru pics} i purchased this to be a weekend/sunny day driver but also a investment and wanted to know if i just replaced the quarters is it better to try and find nos quarters or who is making nice aftermarket ones? is the fit on the aftermarket ones any good? should be recieving car late next week
thanks charlie,,,

You will probably have to get repos. It will be hard to find GM ones, and if you do it will cost you a fortune

I agree. Even good repops require a lot of finessin' and persuadin'. If you have a good metal worker / body man they will look great. Send pics when you can.

Charlie that car is to good of an investment for repro quarters. I put a set of factory gm quarters on my 1st 442 1970 442 convertible 4 speed, The fit was great very simple but took some time. The great thing with convertibles is there is no seam to weld just spots or you can now glue them with fusior thats how I would do them today, moisture can not permeate the seam that way. I do not know anyone that has used the repros yet. Don't ask me why because I don't need them, but I have a set of NOS ones in my attic still, I think I just like collecting NOS parts. I almost bought a 70 pace car in Rochester a few months ago great car to restore. Good luck with your project

Hey guys,

I found this thread while trying to price NOS GM quarter panels. I didn't see an answer to the question posed above. So, I'm posting my own:

What is a fair price on a set of '70-72 Cutlass NOS quarter panels (for a convertible)?

I have an opportunity to buy a pair today.
