Was going through my pic "archives".......

I've taken a lot of pics of my projects over the years, but, never intending them to be for posting purposes.
I don't really have good complete sequential start-to-finish type pics,
mainly just sporadic, "when-I-remembered-to-bring-the-camera" type shots.

Below are a couple of quick-and-dirty Photobucket slide shows I put together on the couch while watching TV.
Nothing special, just copied some complete folders from my computer directly into Photobucket.

The first is of work I did on the car in my sig pic, the second is of the matching convertible which is STILL unfinished.
The first car is my driver that a little rust work ended up mushrooming into refurbishing the rear half of the car.
I didn't get pics of the finished repairs. I may get some and add them to the slide show later.
Unfortunately, I didn't get many "BEFORE" pics.
They would've helped to understand how and why the home-made patch panels were fabricated.

The convertible was started first, then put on hold while I did the work on the coupe.
(I obviously have a little problem with A.D.D. )
The convertible was started in 1990, the coupe in 2000.
Even though the pics aren't great, I know everyone on this site likes pics, so, for what it's worth here they are:

The guy in the pics of the convertible work is not me.
He's an old friend and body man who's shop we did the work in.
I had done almost identical sheet metal work to this car at my place
as I did to the coupe before taking the car to his shop for finishing.
I completely stripped the undercarriage of all hardware, as you can see,
and sandblasted it from front to back before priming and painting.
Did the same with the rear half of the coupe at my shop.
Every surface that has red primer was sandblasted first.
Unfortunately, I didn't get pics of the blasted metal before paint.

Thanks, Eric.
Thanks for looking.

Sorry for the randomness of the slide show.
After viewing it myself, I wish I'd waited 'til I had the pics in a better order.
Also, didn't realize how much redundancy there was.
Worked on the coupe pics a little today.
They're in a little more sensible order now.
Will try to fix the convertible pics later.

Thanks, Dave.
Glad you enjoyed the pics.

If I did this stuff for a living, I'd starve to death.
I'm just too slow and picky. I could never be a flat rate guy.
My customers would stay pissed and so would I, plus,
doing it for a living would take all the fun out of it for me.

Ed, I deleted your shameless link to this thread and gave your thread a bump. If you want to move it up in the future just add more pictures or info.

Eric, no problem.
Wasn't really trying to move the thread up.
I placed it in the Resto-Body and Paint Forum thinking it was the appropriate forum for it.
I just noticed that there didn't seem to be much activity on it here after 2 months.
As I mentioned before, everyone seems to enjoy detail progress pics,
so I thought adding a reference to it in a busier forum would help.
Plus, I was really terribly concerned that everyone thought I was just another pretty face .
(I know. There's not much danger of that. )

Just giving you a hard time... It's had 437 views, just not that many comments.

True.
I guess I was just expecting more comments.

Hi Ed, I just checked out the work that went into your car, looks great and you should be enjoying it for years to come.

HI Steve,
Thanks. That's the plan if I can get it back on it soon.
Tried to make it rust-proof and weather-proof.
Did you ever pick up the catalog?

Ed, it's some nice work. I kind of wish I'd been in WV longer to hang out more. The "good" news is on that front is that my employer has seen fit to send me on the road to the Lexington plant for work. Should there be some show you attend in between Lexington and Charleston this year, I shall try to drive over.

Mine was improved from dead to driving in 05 and not improved since. Hope to have it home this year and begin the process.

Hey, John,
The way you've been moving around the last several years, I don't see how you make any progress at all on the car.

Should be some shows in Huntington coming up. The "World of Wheels" show is always a good one.
It usually comes to Huntington every year. Maybe we can make that one.
The only Olds shows I know of in the area aren't that close.
The Alliance, Ohio Olds Show is always a good one, usually the first or second Sunday in August.
The Anderson Store Olds Show isn't as big, but, a pretty nice show, Columbus, as I remember.
Usually it's after Alliance, September or October.

If you wanted to make the trip to Charleston, the Doo Wop show on Kanawha Blvd, in October
has developed into a major show.
Cars come in from all over the country. Super pleasant venue on the banks of the Kanawha River.
Usually lasts from Thursday to Sunday morning.
My Classic Car has been dedicating a show to the Doo Wop the last couple of years.
