72 Cutlass Front Fenders...where to get them
Hello,
We are doing a frame off on my 72 Cutlass S and are having some problems with some repairs from a previous resto...the fenders have basically been patched twice.
By the time we fix the old I really don't think they are going to look like they should. Any idea as to where to pick up the best set of aftermarket or NOS fenders?
Thanks in advance.
Ben

All the aftermarket fenders are stamped in the same one or two Chinesium factories. Shop for the lowest price. All of them are thinner that OEM and may have fitment issues.

Post your general location in your profile. Someone within a fairly close range may have a nice used set or at least a single. I've bought several nice fenders from forum members over the past few years.

I just installed a set of aftermarket fenders on a customers Rallye 350. The bracket at the rear upper part of the door jamb needs to be removed & rewelded as it does not fit worth a darn. The passenger side was much worse than the driver side.

Got one off of craig's it was a goodmark and one off of here oem patched. I would look for aftermarket or used. You should be able to pick both up for the price of 1 NOS. On a72 s it doesn't make sense financially for NOS IMO.

All great advice guys...located in Lincoln Nebraska so I made sure that was updated. I have a local guy here with tons of Olds parts but he has been a little hard to get ahold of.
Have you guys heard that the lower patch pannels for these things aren't even close. I read that on here somewhere so that's why I wanted to stay away from them and REALLY want to stay away from a full aftermarket fender. NOS is pricey but this isn't just a typical 'S' to our family so I'm willing to spend a little more than usual.
Thanks again for all of the help and keep it coming if you can think of anything else.
