68-69 Repro front fenders

There appears to be two different reproduction front fenders for 68-69 Cutlass now. The original Goodmark repro fenders are now available for about $415 each on line, but the newer repros are priced much higher at $565 each. Does anyone know why? Is there a significant difference?

2nd question; will a 68 cutlass hood work on 69 hinges on 69 fenders with a 68 core support?

Thanks.

A 68 hood will work with 69 hinges if you modify the hinge holes by elongating them about 1/4". There isn't any issue with using 69 fenders on a 68 core support.

I'd be surprised if there were two different manufacturers making 68-69 fenders but I wouldn't be surprised that someone is trying to sell them for a lot more

I would tend to agree, however there are now second sources of some of the Olds repro panels, and frequently these use better dies and thicker metal that is closer to factory. I first found this out when I bought front fender patch panels from Autobody Specialties. Their 70-72 patch panels are much better than the ones originally available. Unfortunately, I do not know if this also applies to the front fenders in this thread.

I fitted a set of goodmarks to a 68' last summer. They seemed as heavy as the originals but I had to shape them from the middle of the door to the top. Probably welded and shaped from 0 to 1/4" at the top.

This was to make them fit nice. And the originals didn't fit that nice either.

The lines down the hood were crisp as is.
