Will the 1970 442 hood fit on a 1972 Cutlass. The hood is a fiberglass reproduction hood. The piece in the middle of the hood has already been removed and that's the only difference that I can see between the '70 model and the 71-72 models.

 

IT might fit, but will not look right. The 71/72 hood is different. 70 Hood is straight in the front... 71/72 has openings for the grilles.

 

Thanks for that information... I see what you're referring to. I'll just hold out for 71/72 hood.

The correct answer is no because the front end is different. Unless you feel like giving the car a face lift and spending all of your money to make it look like a 70 up front.

 

I took these pictures for a friend of mine who was convinced the hoods were the same. He's a Chevy guy, what do you want? . The gold one is a 70, and the blue one is a 71-72.
