Hello everyone.
I am doing a complete restoration on my 1970 Cutlass convertible and ran into a problem with the outer rocker panels. Both of my old rockers were rusted out so I purchased 2 Auto Metal Direct replacement rockers. I spent more money on the AMD's specifically because I wanted a quality part and didn't want any issues. The AMD rockers are about 1/4 inch shorter than the factory rockers. I know that aftermarket parts don't always line up perfect and some may need some mods but I am not sure where to go from here. It makes a big difference on how the quarter panel and A pillar mount up to the rocker. I cant send them back because I bought them a while back and they sat in the garage. I checked them out and they appeared to be perfect. I couldn't tell about height difference until I went to install one of them. Has anyone ran into this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Kevin Quarter panel sits about 1/4 inch higher than the rocker.
