rocker panel replacement
I want to replace the rocker panels on my 72 cutlass convertible. i have been unable to find a helpful video. I also wonder if the parts of the body being held up by the existing running boards will "settle" when the old ones are taken out. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I had mistakenly written "running boards" and am blaming a lack of coffee. Thanks

Running boards

Rocker panel replacement
I posted yesterday about replacing running boards, I meant rocker panels. I must remember coffee before computer. I am looking for tips on replacing my rocker panels. Any good online video or info. I am also wondering if the adjacent body parts will "settle" when I remove the old ones.

Welcome, I am not to far from you over on the Eastern Shore outside of Easton, Md. Have a 71 cutlass convertible.
I don't think you should have much sag if your frame is in good shape. It wouldn't hurt to brace or prop up to be safe. Especially if you are going to have it sit a long period of time. Maybe will be able to get together sometime for a beer or if you need another set of hands.

Thank you for the encouragement Larry. I am new to welding and what I have found in research scares me. I have a friend who welds who is supposed to give me some general pointers. Do you weld? A hand on this sounds great and I'll buy the beer. Dave

I have to do my rockers partial door skins arches and most of the front fenders. my trunk needs a small patch but this car has been a driver since 71 up till a few years ago its been repainted but is still pretty damn solid. have you started replacing yours yet? any pictures of the progress?
