any painters out there

ok i just fixed the body dammage on my 442 and layed down the primer ok now what is my next step should i sand the primer so it is smoth if so do i sand a little each step like the primer the base and clear and what size of sandpaper do i do it with and any other tips would help i have to have this care finished in 3 weeks for the car show thank u

400 grit sandpaper should do and make sure you use guide coat

Use a long sanding board with the quide coat, as long as possible, this will help to reveal imperfections in your body work. If on a curved surface use a flexible sanding board or pad. I agree 400 grit should be good. Good luck!
