bed linner on firewall!!!

I bought a 1970 cutlass supreme. It is a basket case, parts everywhere, nothing bagged, or tagged, all bolts are in 2 boxes. anyway, the person I bought it from, sprayed bed linner on the firewall, floors and trunk floors, I don't care much about it being on the floors, but I would like to paint the firewall, a gloss black. Anyone know how to get this stuff off a firewall?

Do you have the engine out where you could get to the firewall easily? If so I've heard that aircraft stripper will remove it but be careful with the rubber parts and wiring. Also you could sand blast or water blast it off. Larry

car is stripped to shell, so there is nothing on firewall. I will try a small spot, and see what happens. thanks

If the stripper don't work, try a heat gun or propane torch and a putty knife. Larry

Many times I have that most people don't do good prep work before application so if this is the case here, it may mostly scrape or peel off. Try a good sharp putty knife and see what happens.
