Correct if I'm wrong, but is the wiper arm length on a 72 Supreme 16 inches both sides?

Thanks,
Dave

Wiper refill replacement..

I need to change the refills in my wiper blades and according to the body service manual there is some sort of release tab. I have included pics of my wiper blades as well as the page in the manual that describes the procedure. I don't see any release tabs so could I just bend the tab on the end to get the refill to slide out?

Also, (for reasons I can't explain) I have two different length blades. (16 and 18). I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be 16 inch, so I will have buy another 16 inch. Question is, were the OEM frames black or bare metal? Cuz as you can see, mine are black.

Thanks,
Dave

On that type of blade, you have to bend / remove one of the end tabs to slide the insert out, then get new inserts with pinch clip style retainers

OEM was silver and 16" length.

Yes, as I posted in your other thread they are 16" length and silver blades.

I don't even know if you can buy the wiper refills at the auto parts store anymore. I have modern replacement wipers on my 71 98. I kept the OE style wipers.

Most quit selling the replacement inserts years ago.
I buy replacement inserts in bulk for all of my vehicles from Rock Auto - most are around $3 or so per pair.

NAPA sells a "classic series" complete blade, as does Trico. I usually order mine on line.

You might try Kanter or Fusick too for the OE style wipers.

I bought several spare silver blades/arms for my '72s from Scott Winn (oldspackrat) at Nationals this summer. He had a decent stash of them in August.

My O'reilys in the town I work in had re-fills in stock. As of last year.
