I've gone back & forth over the years. Just soliciting opinions on your views about which rubber seal supplier is best.

Views & the why please.

Also, while we're at it, does anyone know which supplier Fusick chooses?

I only have some limited opinions, but none about steele or soff seal...
I include this just for reference.

The 72 A-body trunk seal I got from BAP long ago was a generic no-name piece of crap. Avoid this one, as it is solid foam and very stiff. Trunk is hard to close.

The metro brand trunk seal is much better - hollow sections in it make it softer so the trunk closes easier. It is wider also to seal better.

The metro door seals were pretty good but the little rivets broke easily.

 

At one time Fusick got theirs from Metro.

I haven't used Soff-Seal in many years, but I generally got a fairly good deal on it since I knew their sales rep.

Steele generally has impeccable quality and fit. I have never used it personally (haven't needed w/strip in about 15 years) but I know many who have including some very **** people. You know, the kind who'd say an NOS part wasn't good enough?

 

I like the soff seal stuff for the weatherstrip. I got the door jamb U-seals from Steele and they were much too thick. I couldn't close the door because it caused a clearance problem with the door weatherstrip. I got some from Fusick and it all fit together nicely.

 

I replaced everything rubber on my car over the winter. It is all soft seal and I had no fitment or clearance problems at all. Not that I had a choice I ordered from Supercars Unlimited and that's what I got.

Good stuff in my opinion.
