Removing paint from trim
Hey guys, just wondering what everyone uses to remove old paint from trim. The roof rail trim that goes in the window openings on my 70 Cutlass has paint from a previous paint job, and paint thinner isn't really getting the job done.

I read somewhere (possible here) that you could use balled up aluminum foil to remove overspray and tape residue on chrome trim. I plan in trying it on my bumper. Not sure if it will work on aluminum or pot metal parts though.

Try fine steel wool with some lube, such as WD-40. For the thicker paint, try a hard plastic scraper.

I've used acetone with good success. For old, thick paint, I've used the citristrip. IF the trim is anodized, avoid caustic agents....like drain cleaners..do not ask how I know this.
