pinchweld molding

OK maybe a dumb question, but I need to ask just the same.I have a 64 Cutlass convertible.I need to remove the pinchweld molding.I have looked in the manual, nothing. They have no screws so it will have clips.I need to remove the molding without destroying it as I am restoring the car for my wife.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try looking in a Fisher Body Service Manual for that year. I do not know anything about early 1960's. The pinch welds I have seen are generally just pressed on. I have come across situations where there is one screw behind the quarter window fuzzz to hold the top in place. Sorry could not be much more help

To add what Pacecar said, the clips on my '68 convertible are each held in by one screw that you can only see/feel when the top is half way up/down. If yours in the same, the screw head can be felt/seen on the inside edge that's exposed when the top is in that position. There also might be some sort of sealant that you will need to pry loose if it's there. Just take your time and be careful.

When re-installing the pinchweld, I put the clips in place, each with the single screw to hold it there, and then the pinchweld snapped into place.

Don't know if yours if the same or not but, if it is, this might help.
