72 "Cutlass" script emblem for Fender - Repros not accurate

I shaved my 72 Cutlass Supreme when I restored it about 15 years ago. Now I decided its time to add some bling and put the Cutlass scrip emblems back on the fenders, I bought repros from PP and discovered they are not accurate. I pulled my old rusty fenders out of storage to make patterns for the emblem pins but discovered that the repros do not fit into the original hole pattern. They are also a bit shorter in overall length. PP packaging looks correct (71-77).

Is there another vendor with better quality? Fusick?
Should I seek NOS or good used originals?
Give up and make a pattern for the repros?

I have 3 original emblems but they are too pitted and faded to consider using. Any help or advice is appreciated. If nothing else beware as those repros may not be a slam dunk especially if there are already holes in your nicely painted car. Fortunately I don't have any holes in my fenders yet but need to decide how to move forward.

Repro - Using pin at C as reference

Repro - Whole pattern is off.

Original slips right in.

Original

Repro in back, original in front

Repro on top with pin at C as reference

Repro on top with pin at C as reference

The whole pattern is off. For example, I could not cut off the pin in the middle and use it with two.

I don't believe you will find any issues with Fusicks parts as they were the original source for Olds parts long before The PP came along. I also noted the chrome molding at the edge of the fender by the windshield was thinner with smaller posts than those supplied by Fusicks. PP while good for somethings are marginal at times and customer service is another issue. One persons experience.

I did some comparisons and it ended up taking a while as I bought emblems and learned as I went. As stated above the emblems from PP (EM2453T) do not line up with original pin holes and original emblems. Next I bought a set from Fusick (SE12FP). Unfortunately, they too did not line up with the original pin holes in my old fenders and may have the same pin pattern as the PP emblems. Then I bought some NOS emblems and they did line up with my pin holes and match my old original emblems. However, they were not as nice as I had hoped they would be especially when you compare them against the repro emblems which are crisp and have beautiful chrome plating.

So, I got another set from OPG (C230023). They make a claim right in their catalog; "correctly-located mounting pins". They were on back-order for a couple months but finally arrived today. They came through... They match up with my original emblems and fit right into the factory holes in my original fenders.

So if you are buying emblems keep all this in mind. If you want repros that match the originals in terms of pin location, OPG is your best bet. If you don't care about the pin location, the emblems from PP and Fusick are really nice but will not work if your fenders are already drilled per original factory emblems.
