69 cutlass conv firewall

What is the firewall color suppose to be the same as the outside of the car of flat black or a gloss black

I've seen it vary from a GM chassis black to somewhat of a semi-gloss black. It's definitely not the color of the car.

Eastwood makes a good firewall paint. They call it under hood black I believe. It has the right gloss. 30% If memory's right.
