Question about fuel pump clearance
Hi all, saga continues. I got the radiator straightened out with the correct top plate, Thanks. ('71 'vert, 455; car in boxes)
I installed the lower radiator hose, fit fine. Then I went to put in the fuel pump- major interference. The casting off the water pump is the one recommended for this engine, it is the short one. The fuel pump should be the correct one, bought it from Fusick's. This can't be right- what am I missing? This is my first foray into Olds territory, not going so good.
Any insight appreciated- Thanks

It's upside down. Fittings should be facing up. Make sure you feel tension of spring loaded arm against eccentric (on cam), you should tighten hdwe against spring tension.

Oh, for sure. Never dawned on me to put it upside down- from my view anyway.
Great forum Joe, thanks for the input, and if this is the last of my dumb questions, I'll be amazed. This car has been a journey, starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel- just hoping it isn't an oncoming train!!
