That's not such a bad price.
Rebuilt 455 s usually sell for $1200-2000 from rebuild shops depending if you have a core, and it's condition.

Well, the weblink you provided has expired. I bought a 455 and TH 400 for $350 in the Kansas City, MO area. I disassembled it with Oldsguy over the weekend and it is in good shape. It has almost no ring ridge on it and it rotates freely. I think anything over $800 is too much for an engine if it hasn't been rebuilt. If it has a fresh rebuild then you have to consider if it has aftermarket parts and whether or not it has been broken in.

yeah , every time i hear someone claim a 'rebuilt' engine I am suspicious too...
$350 for the eng. and trans.? sweet deal for you! is that an om or oj code?

The engine has J heads on it. I am not sure what you are referring to...
