head gasket

have a 455 engine came out of a 1970 toranado,needs new head gasket,have never done anything like that before,would like to try to save some cash,has edelbrock aluminium heads and intake,if anyone can give me some step by step instructions i would appreciate that thnx Mike

Someone put edelbrock heads on a Toro?! Geez!

Just unbolt the heads keeping all hardware in order. Have the heads checked for straight and make sure you clean all surfaces completely.

You can pick up a shop manual anywhere for cheap, that should help a lot.

Not to mention the details that someone here might leave out thinking you would know such things. Lots of guys on here are able to do such a job in there sleep but might not be great at step by step instructions.
Get a manual, you'll be glad you did. Coming from a guy who rely's on manuals.

Its not a hard job, it is a long multistep process to try and go into detail on here!! I would also recommend a manual!

thnx for the advice i will get a manual and fix it myself, also the block came out of a 70 toronado had it built up with some high performance parts.
