1971 olds parts interchange with 72 cutlass S

Someone is selling a 71 olds 98 for $1200. If I buy the car for the 455 motor do will any other parts fit my car such as transmission and rear axle? Also what mods will me needed to install the 455. I don't know what kind of transmission I currently have but it's a 3 speed. Has c-12 casting on top.

The transmission will, but it will be a long shaft version. You'll have to have your drive shaft shortened.

The rear end is a no go. Its too wide.

That engine swap should be pretty simple and drop right in. In fact, thats where I found my engine....residing in a 71 98.

If you really want this, try to get it a little cheaper. At this point the car is really only offering you its engine. Everything else is mostly unusable for your cutlass.
