which 67 425 do i have
im new to oldsmobiles and this site. i recently bought a 1980 delta 88. i was told it had a 67 455 in it. from looking on this and other sites i found my block and head numbers and found out my engine is a 67 425. the question is which 67 425 do i have. i read that there are 3 different engines with the same block numbers. i did talk to the original owners widow she said the car was an aqua blue four door. and was definatly not a toronado. my block numbers are 389244D the engine is still in the car and i cant get to it good enough to get it clean enough to see if there is a drill spot. my heads are C heads and the numbers on them are 394548. it has a two barrel carb. the valve covers are red. cannot see the block color. too dirty. the carb has these numbers on it. 7037056 and has a purple tag that has h6 rb 64 on it. the intake has these numbers 39735
so my questions are. is there any way i can tell which motor i have. as far as compression ratio, horsepower and torque numbers. and is there any way to tell if i have the 39 or 45 degree cam bank angle without taking the intake off. and if i do have the 45 degree block how will that affect rebuilding as far as cam availability and $. my plans for this motor are fairly mild. i hope i dont **** any diehard oldsmobile guys off with this but i will be putting the motor in a fenderless 50 chevy hot rod truck. so i will have a pretty light truck so i dont need tons of horsepower. although it would be cool
. sorry for the rambling any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance mike.
