Headers in a convertible

I have a 72 Convertible cutlass and I'm getting ready to install a 455 into it. My question is has anyone on here that has a convertible had trouble installing full length headers?
What brand did you use?

The convertibles are no different than the hardtops. There is some bad info out there. The only difference between the hardtop frame & the convertible frame,is the boxed frame rails, which are nowhere near the headers or exhaust.

I've used Headman headers and Doug Thorley headers with no issues. The headmans are easier to 'distort' to clear the proportioning valve. With the Thorleys I just relocated the proportioning valve to the top side of the frame rather than on the side.

I have Headman headers on my 72 cutlass hardtop. They weren't too bad putting in. I think I'll go with them again. Thanks

I had Hookers on mine long ago. They barely cleared the brake line on the drivers side, and also melted the rubber piece on the end of the prop. valve a bit.

It is best to relocate the proportioning valve on the frame, regardless of what headers you run.If the headers don't rub it,they are very close to it,making it hotter than normal, and your brakes are not something to chance with.Just swing it up on top of the frame.

I've run Hooker on 3 of my Cutlass's and never had to bang or beat them up to fit them. If the engine isn't in just lay them in position and save any headache of the installation and yes, move the distribution block!
