39* vs. 45* pushrod holes-B Head

hellllooo...any way to verify the angle of pushrod ??? i cheated & stuck large threaded rods (3/8") into the pushrod hole of my B head & did the same to my #6 350 head.. lined "em up & they both visually were the same..i dont know if this is truelly legit but hopefully it is...of note to any who think the 65 B Heads were all 45* think again... i found an OLDS site where they were talking about all the different lifter sizes & bank angles degrees etc..quite a bit of the 425 motors got the more modern 39* angle than u may realize in 1965 ,66..thanx for your input & help..now get out there & rip up the road !!

I thought I had a good post that would help you... but realized I didn't. If you have the time try the search option and read through the threads you find. John

I stole this off of another thread around here somewhere. I'm too lazy to find it to give credit to whoever posted it...

I don't know about that for sure. I have 'B' heads on my 45 degree block.

Doh! Kurt, I didn't even catch that the B heads were identified as 1965. jc83 if you have B heads they're from a 1966 not a 1965. John

I noticed the '65 B head thing, but figured I'd cut the OP some slack.

That drill spot is on the front of the block - the rib above the timing cover flange. It is a reliable indicator of a .921" lifter/39 degree block.
You can see it in this photo:
