1965 425 starfire
What do you guy's think of this? Bought a starfire that had been sitting inside for 28 yrs (so I was told). It ran and drove but not very well. Rebuilt the carb and did all the needed thing to make it road worthy. I put a compression test on all cylinders and they were all 185 -195 Thought that was good. Started driving it and it was doing very well. One fine saturday I went for a cruise and I thought I blew a rod. (lot of metal noise) Got it home to find out what was wrong and decided to do a compression check because it still turned over. I couldn't get 90 lbs out of any cylinder and no compression out of one. A valve broke and trashed the piston and cylinder bore. It did not jump time. What are your thoughts on this?

Thought I would post some pics of the valve that crashed my starfire
motor. A lot of carbon build up on the stem did the carbon and moisture do it? Looks like it (carbon) was eating it up.
