Upper Hose on 455 collapses at cool down

Do I have an issue to address or is this normal? See Pic. The upper hose off the radiator to the block collapses after the engine cools down, or at rest.? Is that normal.

Maybe you have a vacuum / blockage condition being created during those periods which is sucking the hose in. Maybe try bleeding/burping your cooling system the cap off.

If the hose is old, try changing it out. It not too old, maybe put a spring in it like bottom hoses have.

Also check the radiator cap. Does this car have an overflow jug or just a puke hose?

Your radiator cap may be faulty.

Just put a new hose on old one did the same thing.
I'll try "burping the system" and also try a new cap?

Is it an overflow (like puke bottle) or a coolant reservoir where coolant flows back into the radiator when needed. As a reservoir, there should be little to no vacuum on the system when it cools, so it makes the cap suspect.

Changed out the radiator cap with a new one from NAPA (16lbs pressure rating). We'll give that a try. The other one was marked 0.9!!
I'll post when I take the car out again and run it and see if it does the same thing.
Thanks for replys.

The 0.9 was probably 0.9 bar or around 13 psi.

Is your new radiator cap made for recovery? Most are nowadays, but there's also ones that do NOT have the vacuum break that were made for non-recovery situations.

Thanks I think I'll do that. Sometimes it's the little things that annoy me, but this just doesn't seem right (the hose collapsing). I did get that new cap too.
