Change distributor and others 1791 Oldsmobile 442

Hi guys.

I would like to change the distributor with its components in my car.
I have noticed that the car heats up a little, and it seems that it is difficult to start easily, as if the starter motor had a hard time working, so I think it is not a bad option to replace the distributor.
I am from Europe, so I normally buy from Rockauto since it is the spare parts website with the best shipping options to my country.
I have seen this kit: https://www.rockauto.com/es/moreinfo...=7108&jsn=4892
The problem I see with this kit is that it is rebuilt, and I would like to purchase something new.
Could you help me locate a compatible cover, rotor and shaft? In addition, I also want to change the spark plug wires and spark plugs.
If you advise me anything else I'm all ears.
Thanks in advance.

Regards

What is wrong with the one currently in the car? You could probably buy new points, condenser, rotor, and cap and have money left over to supplement the spark plug wires and spark plugs. These cars required tune ups periodically to keep them running properly. You should also change your fuel filter.

The original distributor has the advance curves that the factory determined were correct for your car. Any aftermarket distributor will not. Unless you plan to dial in the mechanical and vacuum advance curves I would not recommend a new distributor. Tune the car up.

This not due to the distributor. It is more likely the starter solenoid, the wiring to the solenoid, the battery cables, or even the starter itself.

Don't listen to me about this, but I have the feeling that the system may be a little worn out, it seems to be the original one that came with the car, that's why I thought about replacing it.
It is true that I have been able to check the system with a strobe light only at idle, because I did not have a gun with enough degrees to test it with the car accelerated.
As I mentioned before, the issue of the car getting a little hot, the starter motor not moving with the joy with which it normally does and the car not having the same nerve as always, makes me think that something It's not going well on that side, what do you think?
Thanks.

You mean the starter motor, correct?
What I did to the starter motor a few weeks ago was change the electrical line, it seemed that the cable was not in very good condition, and without a doubt I have noticed the improvement, but not enough.
The mechanic told me that the starter motor seems to be in good condition.

For many years my car struggled to start when hot. The starter would turn very slowly until it cooled off. I finally installed new 1 gauge battery cables and ensured the solenoid was getting full 12 Volts and the problem was resolved.

Hmmm. I do recall reading in a biography of George Washington about him owning one of these. He kept it only a couple of years before selling it to Thomas Jefferson and buying a brand-new 1793 model.

(Sorry, couldn't resist!)

I also can't help but notice the irony given the OP's username.

Tampoco puedo evitar notar la ironía dado el nombre de usuario del OP.
