The return hose coming from my heater core looks like it's just about to fail (to me anyway). I'd like to replace it but I'm not sure what size hose to ask for. Are these fairly standard size hoses at the parts stores?
Heater hoses typically are standard sizes, such as 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and come in long rolls and you buy what you need either per inch or per foot. Dunno what size yours are, but it should be easy enough to either measure the ends of the pipes where the hoses connect, or bring a section of the old hose with you to the parts store to compare to a new one.

Excellent idea. I'll remove it and take it down to the store. So it's measured by the diameter of the pipe it connects to then, rather than the outside diameter of the hose?
