I use Felpro rubber and glue them to the valve cover side with weather stripping adhesive, nothing on the head side.

Rubber with steel core. They are reusable. No sealer needed

Fel Pro Perma Dry were the best, but discontinued.

x2. They do pop up on eBay occasionally, I have a few sets that I scoffed up over time but unfortunately not willing to share.

Once I found these appx 20 years back I never used anything else since. I think I might still be using the same original set through multiple engines and dozens of reuses, still leak free with 2 per side for spacers. Damn shame they were discontinued.

Fel Pro # VS13403T Perma Dry Plus - don’t confuse with similar part #’s, these are identifiable as they needlessly come with steel load spreaders.

With these largely unobtainable, the other recommendations need to be considered.

I have had great luck with Edlebrock #7598, its a mix of material (Composite/Rubber Seal, 0.250 in.)

I was using FelPro Rubber but they split on me after 2 removals for tweaking my roller rocker lash settings and I had oil bleeding out onto my header...big mess....
These gaskets from Edlebrock hold up nicely to the on/off aspect of adjusting rockers, I was pleasantly shocked

I use the very nice steel core rubber molded gaskets from Bernard Mondello with our cast aluminum covers, but, I bet they will work great with steel 10 bolt covers as well.

Give him a call, and he can tell you for sure if they will work for you. They are the best ones I have seen yet, and look to be lifetime gaskets.

I 100% agree with this. I never saw a set of "Fel Pro Perma Dry" gaskets but these gaskets from Bernard are the best Oldsmobile valve cover gaskets I have ever seen.
Made in USA, stainless steel core, soft durometer rubber with torque stops.
Wonder who really makes them? The only identifying mark on them is "VC439"

Those look to be functionally identical to the Perma Dry Plus gaskets. Nice that they’re available, hands down best design I’ve used.
