What Part is this- where does it go?

While rooting around on the left side of the engine and discovered that I was missing one bolt in the top/middle of the exhaust manifold, I heard a ker-plunk and found this bushing or spacer on the ground, basically beneath the steering gear (so left side, front of engine about beneath the alternator)! Any idea where I should put this back or should I be looking for yet another missing bolt and spacer. The hole is 1/2" in the bushing/spacer and the overall O.D. I'd say is 1". It's painted the same blueish that the engine is painted and has some oil or rusty oil on one surface? Can't really see anywhere that it might be missing from!

Pics of p/s area

I can't really see where the spacer might go! Am I missing a bracket that goes to the engine block?

From what I can tell and I'll look at my manuals further, but I think I'm missing the brace that would be on the right side of that p/s bracket! I'm going to try and find that diagram and see if that's the case. The mounting bracket that's installed is held in place by two bolts on the left side of the the p/s pump bracket. There's another hole shown in my pictures on the right hand side of the bracket but nothing is attached to it.

It's the spacer for the lower bolt of the power steering bracket. Right next to the drivers side motor mount. You wont see it from the top. Takes a 7/16" bolt.

So I think I'm missing a bracket. The p/s bracket has 3 mounting holes. Looking from the front, there's two holes in the bracket on the left side of the bracket, almost vertical and that's what's holding my bracket in place right now. BUT there's one hole with nothing attached to it on the very right side of the triangular bracket . There's no other bolt that fell out, just this spacer. Wish I could get a better picture.

pic of hole in bracket

Here's a pic of that bolt hole in the p/s bracket. Is there supposed to be a brace attached to it?

Yup.

There's two brackets, each has a spacer. One is low on the front, and one is low on the side, which is what you don't have.

My 72 was jacked up in many ways, still is, and it was missing both spacers. It was also missing a washer in an almost impossible to install position while on the car. Don't ever take the tension bolt out if it's got the washer behind the damn track and in front of the pump. I had to pull an old fashioned Southern miracle to get that washer in there while on the car.
