what is this motor

Hi folks I'm a newbe and I'm trying to find out what type of motor do I have in this old car and I'm going to pull it out and rebuild it and put in a 80 malibu. I believe the motor is a 455 big block. The car still has most of the trim on it and interior but I have know use for it after I pull the drive train. I got the car through a cousin of mine , it was her dads car and after he pasted away the car was just left to rust away. I remember the car when I was a little boy and from asking around this car really ruled the streets back in the day. If someone wants to price it now as is just holla at me. I live in Alabama and I have more pics also. Thanks ,Samuel Walker 205-712-3146

How much do you want for the valve covers? And what casting heads are on it? And what intake is on that (and would you sell it)?

The engine is a 1968 350 Olds smallblock. The number 5 on the head is what I used to determine. A big block would have a letter not a number on the head. The correct letter for a 68 455 engine would be a C.

The intake is a alum. elderbrock with what looks like a 1" spacer and the valve covers are elderbrock also Holley dual line 750 or larger. The motor has long tube headers and I'm not sure about the casting on the heads. But I really do hate to hear this is a olds 350. Everyone said it was a 455 here in town. You can buy the motor but not parts off it at this time. I have plans to pull the car out and see whats all good that can be sold.

Well I have plenty of parts for mine here. I already have a biult 455 in my delta but I like the valve covers and intake (I could live without the carb). If you decide your going to sell the valve covers mainly let me know. Im in Seattle but Im willing to pay shipping.

Do you really think this motor is a 350 olds? I'm going to go take more pics today of the car and try to see what casting numbers are on the heads. I heard that nice build on a 455 can net some big RWHP / RWTQ. I will keep you posted up on the parts.
