It’s really hard to rebuild cast iron heads economically compared to aftermarket aluminum. Add in the 50 hp bolt on, even more so. By the time you install guides, springs, valve job, porting, other machine work, etc it adds up to at least the cost of aftermarket

Core heads typically sell in the $100-$250 a pair range. As noted, properly building a set of iron heads will rapidly reach the cost of new aluminum. Unless you care about looking correct or have rare W30 heads, think carefully about the cost.

Thanks Joe

That is about what I thought for cores, I had read and heard that the C heads flowed better than the aftermarket heads but I know technology changes so maybe they’re a lot better now, I had heads done last year they installed new larger valves and seats in my small block heads and filled the center port and I only paid $400 I know that’s small block but I didn’t think the price was bad and they turned out great, thanks for the reply I appreciate it, I’m sure the smart thing to do would just be to go with the aluminum aftermarket and have them port matched

None of the stock iron heads flow better than any aftermarket head. At best they flow the same but all aftermarket heads have better combustion chambers and more efficient ex ports. Whoever told you different is clueless.
Hope this helps.

Now trying to get $40 for a pair of C heads
If they are rusted / damaged............ They are then good for SCRAP /parts
