Throttle cable

Hey guys. I have a 69 olds 442 with a 455. I put an edelbrock intake on with a quadrajet on it. The throttle cable i have on the car is way too long now. The one i have is the one every parts catalog says is the original it is 23". I bought one i found at summit that is 19.5" and is just a bit too short it is keeping the engine reved up now. Anyone have this issue or know what i need? Thanks

Are you sure you have the correct cable bracket and installed correctly. The 23'' is the right length.

Can you post a pic of carb and bracket area?

i will get a picture of it this evening. Not sure if it is correct it was the one that was on the motor when i rebuilt it so could be from something completely different.

That bracket looks fine and I don't see anything else that looks out of place. Perhaps someone else can lead you to another conclusion.

At this point I would try to ensure everything is mounted correct at the pedal, inside the car.
